In other news...

Sheffields largest nightclub burned to the ground last night. Not many details yet, but ill add as more gets released.

Clip from NME here

I never went, plenty of people told me it was a great night out. Always sad to see landmarks for a generation disappear...

2 days to go

I hate packing. It sucks. Waste of time and effort, when i could fill that case with beer. Oh well. Fortunatly, iv got the missus to pack for me, mainly because i apparently do a crap job of it. How do you do a crap job of putting clothes in a case? Is it some women thing i dont understand? Are there other men out there that have the same thing?

Im told its to do with something called "multi-tasking", and men are apparently useless at it. Nonsense. Im typing and thinking at the same time. Thats not multi-tasking? Oh right...

Work was a waste of oxygen and 24 hours today - I wonder if theres any point sticking my CV on monster. Then i realise ill probably get a job offer from my current employers, and thatll be tough to talk my way out of.

Fed up. Need a pick me up. Off to play footy. If we lose, the PC could get smashed. If we win, ill love Northern Mutterings....for another few hours at least.

Heres a picture of a suitcase, something to look at. Which is another thought. The worst thing about holidays? Finding your case. No wonder so many people buy outrageous colour cases, theres nothing worse than watching 300 cases go round the conveyor, fighting your way to the front, only to either pick up the wrong one, or watch someone pick up yours.

Tips, anyone?

Holiday...

Off to Egypt on Friday. 2 weeks of sun, sand, and camels. Hoping to get to see some of the pyramids, and do some quad biking in the sand. Staying at Taba Heights, not a bad package either from Thomsons.
Wont be taking the mobile.
Wont have internet access.
Will i ask Sime to post in here in my absence...................?

Ready for a rest...

live to fight another day

So Monday came and went. Got up late, felt like a bag of unwashed badgers all day, but survived. Which is a funny thing about humans. They take a lot of punishment, batterings and crap, but always keep going. If cars were built more like people, we wouldnt need so many mechanics. Perhaps ill ask a doctor one day why the human body refuses to lie down and give up the ghost. Unlike PCs. Or servers.
In all, i realised today that whatever hits me tomorrow, however bad things get, and whatever silly things i attempt next, ill be back in the firing line the very next day.

Word to your sense of never giving up.

On the move

Sime finally started moving offices this week. Word to getting a new desk space.

Which got me thinking; is moving house all that stressful? Aside from a relative dieing, its apparently the most traumatic thing you can do. In all, iv lived in 27 different houses in my 24 years of being a human (im assuming i havent had a past life or anything like that...) and iv gotta say, i quite enjoy it. The whole setting up your rooms bit by bit, getting new stuff in, new start - its great.

So why do we find it so stressful? Is it knowing theres no shortcuts? That there is a set amount of work to do, and it all HAS to be done? Or is it that we are creatures of habit - we dislike change, and everything thats involved? Is change always for the best? Can you achieve the same levels of stress by emptying your room, and then moving it all back in? Why when im so hungover am i asking so many questions? And who am i asking them of? Am i talking to myself? Is anyone there?

So many questions, so little time. Actually, iv got loads of time. Maybe ill answer them. Not all of them. Thats too much work. Im going for a sit down.

Sime - word to your hard work ethic. The North loves you, and its got one of these in the fridge for ya.

Where would you rather be?

To put it simply, the grass is always greener on the other side. The question is, where is the other side? Where would you go if you could? And do you think when you got there, would the grass still be as green? And what about those of us with no grass and a concrete jungle? are we excluded from this?

So i figured....

My first real post should be something thought provoking, interesting and above all highly relevant.

Then i realised thats not what im good at.

So, comedy moments; im dedicating my first post proper to finding, adding and sharing the things that make us all laugh, be it films, something from Youtube, comments, stories, it doesnt matter. If its funny, lets share it.

And if no one else visits my blog, at least ill laugh...

So we're all at it then....

Seems that im one of the last to turn to the dark side and live more of my life online than outside. Initial thoughts are this could be great, brain says dont worry, youll forget your login soon enough and this will be left to rot with all the other online things youve tried (banking, casino, amazon) .

Until then, lets see how far it goes.

As they say - its grim up North...
